Twenty-four new Ecumenical Accompaniers start their term

A new group of 24 Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs) recently began three months participating with the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI). The new arrivals bring the total number of EAs to have participated in the programme to 480.

Three returning and 21 new EAs are placed in teams of four in six different placements: Bethlehem, Hebron, Jayyous, Jerusalem, Tulkarem and Yanoun.

The 27th group of EAs comprises 12 women and 12 men, from nine different countries (Germany, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Sweden, South Africa, Switzerland, the UK and the USA).

Profiles of the current EAs can be viewed here.

Ecumenical Accompaniers, who serve a minimum of three months, engage in various capacities with local churches, Palestinian and Israeli NGOs, as well as Palestinian communities to try to reduce the brutality of the Occupation and improve the daily lives of both peoples. The WCC would like to welcome the new group to Israel/Palestine.
