The 32nd group of Ecumenical Accompaniers comprises 15 women and 9 men, from 9 different countries.

A new group of 24 Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs) have begun their three months working with the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI). The new arrivals bring the total number of EAs to have participated in the programme to 563.

The 32nd group of Ecumenical Accompaniers comprises 15 women and 9 men, from 9 different countries (Germany, Ireland, Norway, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, USA, and for the first time – The Netherlands). Among other professions, the EAPPI welcomes a pastor, a business woman, a translator, two engineers, an economist, a journalist, several teachers, students, development workers, researchers, and human rights activists. Two EAs have served in the past and are returning for an additional term.

Profiles of the current EAs can now be viewed on the website.

EAs from the group are based in six placements: Bethlehem, Hebron, Jayyous, Jerusalem, Tulkarem, and Yanoun.

Ecumenical Accompaniers, who serve a minimum of three months, work in various capacities with local churches, Palestinian and Israeli NGOs, as well as Palestinian communities to try to reduce the brutality of the Occupation and improve the daily lives of both peoples. The WCC would like to welcome the new group to Israel/Palestine.
